Where did it all start with the Air Max 1 ?
The Air Max 1 was first released on 26 March 1987. The shoe was first designed by Tinker Hatfield, who was active in design in 1985 and also designed the Nike Jordans with similar features. The inspiration to make the inside of the sole visible came to the shoe designer from Paris' Georges Pompidou art museum, with its numerous windows revealing the inside of the building.
